OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT


  • Any unsafe condition or potential hazard must be reported to management immediately. Management must follow up on this information and ensure prompt action to correct any problems.

  • Keep floors clean and free of clutter and grease or other residue, and wipe up spills immediately.

  • Post a wet floor sign as necessary.

  • Never operate equipment unless you have been trained and given proper instruction on safe operation. If you are not fully trained in the area you are assigned, immediately report this to management.

  • When lifting objects – bend your knees, keep your back straight and never lift too much. If it is uncomfortable, make two trips or get some help.

  • Do not run in the Pizzeria.

  • Return items to their proper places. Excess clutter and disorganization leads to accidents.

  • Know the location of all emergency exits. Make sure exit doors are never blocked.

  • Fire extinguishers are never to be removed from their assigned locations. The use of any extinguisher must be reported immediately to your Manager.

  • All Employees are required to wear non-skid footwear.

  • Report defective equipment or tools immediately.

  • Pay special attention when using cutting appliances such as: slicers, food processors, mixers, etc. Do not use tools or equipment for any reasons other than the purposes for which they were intended.

  • Never remove safety guards from any equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned on a regular basis.

  • Wear protective gloves whenever using or cleaning knives and operating or cleaning the slicer.

  • Report any unsafe situations to management immediately.

  • Employees must not consciously or deliberately create a situation that endangers the safety of another person(s).
