DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA (OR SMOKE-FREE POLICY)

Passariello’s cares about the health and well-being of Employees and Guests. Employees who wish to smoke must obtain management approval for every occasion. Smoking is permitted outside the building in areas specifically designated by management. All Employees must wash their hands immediately after smoking. Chewing tobacco is not allowed on Company property. Failure to observe the non-smoking rules may result in termination.

CELL PHONE POLICY

Passariello’s has adopted the following cell phone policy:

CELL PHONES IN THE RESTAURANT – STAFF

Non-management employees are prohibited from any cell phone use while at work. This policy includes receiving or placing calls, texts, accessing the internet, receiving or responding to emails, or checking for phone messages. Cell phones must be turned off, put on vibrate mode or silenced, and kept out of Guest view upon arriving at the Pizzeria. Electronic and handheld devices including, but not limited to iPads and mp3 players must be turned off.

CELL PHONES IN THE RESTAURANT – MANAGEMENT

Passariello’s is aware that some management staff will use their cell phones for Passariello’s business purposes. While this may be convenient, we ask that all calls be made in the office area or other area out of view of the Guest. Management may carry cell phones but they cannot be visible. Our standard rule is that no cell phone should be operated, in any manner, in the dining room or any other place that is in view of the Guest.

In the case of an emergency that occurs on Company property, the first available cell phone or telephone should be used to dial 911. Please use common sense with regards to the use of cell phones in the Pizzeria.

CELL PHONES DURING DELIVERY - DELIVERY DRIVERS

Passariello’s recognizes that Passariello’s delivery drivers will use their cell phones for Passariello’s business purposes while driving in their personal vehicle. It is the opinion of Passariello’s that cell phone use while driving is dangerous. Our policy, therefore, is to prohibit Employee use of cell phones while working on Passariello’s Company business.

If the use of the cell phone is absolutely necessary when in your automobile, the Employee shall park the vehicle in a safe manner before verifying an address, or placing or answering a call from the Pizzeria. Passariello’s will allow the use of a Bluetooth with a speaker or earpiece/microphone. Drivers must have a cell phone holder in their car; cannot hold cell phone in hand while driving.

A cell phone GPS is allowed in support of delivery (when all possible use WAZE application for directions to delivery location). All addresses must be logged into the GPS before driving. Passariello’s prefers drivers to use GPS systems with audio directions or visually mounted directions. Delivery drivers are not allowed to drive while reading a cell phone GPS in their hand.

Delivery drivers are expected to safely operate their vehicle to and from destinations, and adhere to all traffic laws while driving for Passariello’s. Passariello’s is not liable for any fines or tickets drivers obtain while driving.
